Purpose of the
CONTENT PANEL:
This component is the most flexible method available for displaying custom text, images, and video. Content Panels can stand on their own, or link to related content as users need.
To implement a
Content Panel Component:
- Navigate to the relevant Page Template within Content Editor.
- Click the right-arrow to expand the Page Template directory
- Click the right-arrow to expand the “Page Content” folder
- Select any of the “Content Panel” component data sets.
- Add desired content to the Rich Text Editor.
- Save the component data set, and publish the page once your updates are complete.
- Select the enclosing page in the File Tree.
- Click “Experience Editor” under the “Publish” tab in the Sitecore Ribbon. Experience Editor will open in a new Browser window.
NOTE: If the Experience Editor opens to the “Home” page, close the tab, ensure the correct page is selected in the Content Editor File Tree, and click “Experience Editor” again.
- Within Experience Editor, scroll to the specific Content Panel component you’d like to update.
- If the desired Content Panel component data set isn’t displaying, click on the Content Panel’s blue border to display this menu:

- Click the yellow database with blue checkmark icon, and select “Change Associated Content.”
- Select the desired component data set. If it doesn’t appear, navigate back to the page within Content Editor, and save the page. Reload Experience Editor, and try again.
- If the desired Content Panel component data set isn’t displaying, click on the Content Panel’s blue border to display this menu:
